Clowndoctors Go North (Hearts & Minds Ltd.)
Hearts & Minds Clowndoctors improve the experience of sick and vulnerable children in hospital, hospice, respite and specialist school care. We use the performing arts to encourage communication, interaction and laughter. Our programme provides children with ‘an escape’ from pain, anxiety and distress. We give children the opportunity to play and engage through means of music, slapstick, rhythm with specially tailored interactions just for them and their families. This project will enable us to work with CHAS at Home in Inverness & Aberdeen giving children who are very ill a reason to smile and share a special time with their family. Sadly the children we will see can’t go to the park or play with friends like healthy children – so this project means so much to them. We will also visit Drummond School in Inverness and work with pupils who have severe learning difficulties and complex special needs and neighbouring Orchard Respite Centre. Our close work with teachers and staff will enable us to help deliver different aspects of the the curriculum whilst making learning fun and encouraging children to interact and communicate with one another. Clowndoctors Go North really need your vote to make this happen! Thank you.
