Colour the Capital (Forest Recycling Project Limited)
This project will brighten up run-down community spaces with colourful murals, giving them much-needed makeovers and literally brightening up people’s lives.
We will create a series of eye-catching murals that communities can be proud of. We will transform 9 community spaces in deprived areas of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest. Working with Global Street Art, we’ll also run street art workshops in local schools. And we’ll give out 6,000 litres of free paint to those in need, to decorate their homes.
What’s more, we use surplus paint, which we process and pass on – saving it from landfill. 50 million litres of paint are left unused every year – what a waste. By reusing this paint we help the environment, whilst colouring the capital.
