FAB KEYNSHAM UP FOR THE PEOPLE’S MILLIONS LOTTERY TV VOTE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpn63raGtgo&feature=youtu.be
FAB Keynsham (Farm at Broadlands) is one of only six bids in West Country East that have been shortlisted to battle for the public vote and £45,000 of lottery cash in ITV’s The People Millions TV Competition.
FAB Keynsham will make a bid for viewers support to win £45,000, with the public voting by phone to decide who wins the prize. On Monday 24th November 2014, ITV West Country east will highlight the ‘FAB Keynsham’ project which focuses on using farming and gardening as an activity to develop self-confidence, work experience and tolerance and respect within the community for disaffected and disabled young people.
Nicky Parry, Project Leader, states: “FAB Keynsham aims to make farming and gardening more accessible to disabled and visually impaired children, young people and their families with help of retired members of the community. We want to be able to offer them the same opportunities as everyone else and be involved in new and exciting activities, develop their self-confidence and all round well-being. We want people to get involved in a fun social activity and make new friends of all ages.”
If we win, the money will be used to buy the animals – chickens and goat etc, and to make the site fully accessible for disabled and visually impaired young people. We will offer taster days for the young people and their friends for the West Country East region.
We will buy all the specialist equipment including tactile signs and literature so that young people can be involved in all activities.
This is a community farm for the community.
FAB Keynsham volunteers and supporters will be filming a TV appeal with ITV West Country East on Thursday 6th November and from now until Monday 24th November, will be raising awareness of the public vote and encouraging people to vote on the night.
