The SkyWay Bike Champions project will train young people to fix and maintain bikes and to become cycle safety instructors so they can support families and other young people to make safe cycling part of their everyday lives.

Around 5,500 cyclists were killed or injured in London last year, over a 1,000 of them were children.

35% of children in the UK aged 11-15 are overweight or obese.

The SkyWay Bike Champions will provide free cycle safety instruction and free bike maintenance in schools, on housing estates and at community events. There will also be a community fun ride for all generations.

I was directed to the website by the 'colour the capital' bid but think this is a more worthwhile use of the money so have voted for this project instead. I hope that you win.
